About ScoutIQ AI
ScoutIQ AI is dental billing automation software for multi-location dental groups and DSOs. Its AI agent reads and posts insurance EOBs to the practice management system, matches checks, EFTs and virtual cards to the bank, auto-collects patient balances by text, and reconciles practice, bank and books at every location. Atlas, its AI assistant, answers billing questions in plain English. Founded in Houston, Texas, by dentists, a fintech architect and an AI data scientist.
Two ends of the same problem
One founder built a DSO past 237 locations. The other grew up in two dental practices, her father's four locations and her mother's one. From both seats the gap looked identical: the data was all there, the money was all there, and turning either into a decision still took a person, a spreadsheet and a week. The software that closed the gap did not exist. What existed were dashboards that reported what had already happened, and nothing that acted on it. So they built it.

Built a DSO past 237 locations
Co-founded a specialty DSO and grew it past 237 locations. From that seat you see what the whole market has to work with, and it was thin: the data was never missing, it sat in practice management systems, accounting, payroll and banks, but turning any of it into a decision still took a person, a spreadsheet and a week.

Second generation of dentists
Grew up in two dental practices. Her father is an oral surgeon who runs four locations; her mother owns a single practice. From inside a small practice the gap looked exactly as it did from 237: the insurance checks in a pile, the deposit that never quite matched, the month end that took a week, at four locations and at one.
We are not here to hand you another dashboard. We are here to hand you back the hours.
What we do
Three jobs a billing team does by hand today, done before the first patient, on the practice management system you already run.
Insurance billing
Every EOB read and posted to your PMS. Checks, EFTs and virtual cards matched to the bank. Denials queued for appeal with the reason attached.
Insurance billing automationPatient billing
Balances go out by text with a pay link and a payment plan. Payments post to the ledger on their own. No statement runs, no chasing.
Patient billing automationAtlas and AI analytics
Every location in one live view: what was collected, what is still out there, and what needs attention. Ask Atlas in plain English; it answers from your own numbers, emails the A/R report and ranks who to chase.

Our mission
Eliminate the financial complexity of running a dental practice so owners can focus on patients, not paperwork.
Our vision
The AI-powered operating system for the business side of dentistry, so teams can focus entirely on patient care.
Where we are going
We think about it the way self-driving cars progressed: supervised first, then semi-autonomous, then nearly fully autonomous. At every stage a person on your team approves anything that moves money.
- TodaySupervised
- ScoutIQ AI does the routine work: reads and posts EOBs, matches deposits, sends patient balances, drafts the reconciliation. Your team reviews the queue and approves.
- NextSemi-autonomous
- Routine billing runs on its own from posting to reconciliation. Only the exceptions reach a person, with the reason attached: a short payment, an unmatched deposit, a patient who needs a conversation.
- Where this goesNearly fully autonomous
- Billing that runs end to end while your team supervises rather than operates: sets the rules, watches the results, steps in when it matters, and spends the day on patients instead of paperwork.
Why now
Growing a dental group used to mean more paperwork at every new location. Six things changed at once, three in dentistry and three in technology.
In dentistry
1Patients expect it
A text with a pay link, a balance that is right, a receipt that posts itself. Patients get that everywhere else now and expect it from their dentist.
2Teams are asking for it
Office managers and billers want fewer manual workflows, not another portal. The best people leave the practices that keep them retyping.
3Margins are tighter
Reimbursement pressure and DSO competition mean the money left on the table in billing is now the difference in the year.
In technology
4Open APIs
Practice management systems, banks and accounting platforms now expose APIs. Software can read the ledger, the deposit and the books directly and post payments back, instead of a person retyping between three screens.
5The cost of agents
The cost of having an AI agent read a document, check a number or send a message has collapsed. Reading every EOB and checking every deposit, every day, at every location, is now within reach of a single practice.
6Fidelity
Models now read an EOB, match a deposit and post a payment at an accuracy a biller can trust, and they show their work. Nine in ten insurance payments match with no human review; the rest are flagged, not guessed.
McKinsey and the Harvard School of Public Health project that AI could save the U.S. healthcare system more than $360 billion a year by 2030, most of it in administration. For a dental group, that starts with billing. The match rates above are measured on customer data; see how we measure.
How we work
We are craftspeople. We build with precision, ship fast with courage, and grow with confident humility. Our five values spell the word:
Customer obsession
We obsess over our customers' success, not just their requests. Every decision passes one question: does this make the practice's day measurably better?
Radical candor
Say the hard thing directly, kindly and in the moment. Disagreement is expected; silence is not. Disagree, then commit.
Act like an owner
No task is beneath anyone and no problem is someone else's. Every person here operates as if the company depends on them, because it does.
Fearless velocity
Make the best call with what we know, ship it, learn from it, improve it. Waiting for certainty costs more than a fixable mistake.
Tempered confidence
Good at what we do without needing to prove it in every room. Listen more than we talk, stay open, reason from first principles, and let the work speak.
